The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - As part of its commitment to maintain a successful franchising support system and better relations within its growing community of partners, world-renowned convenience store chain 7-Eleven, through its exclusive local licensee Philippine Seven Corp. (PSC), recently named its new set of officers for its Franchise Advisory Council (FAC).

The new Council officers are composed of PSC-appointed representatives, namely Business Development Division manager Francis Medina (chairman), operations manager: Liwayway Fernandez, and Franchise Planning Specialist Jowilyn Domingo (secretary); and six District Representatives (DRs) headed by Waldo Abad Santos, East District (FC chairman); Hellen Patio, North 1 District; Ronald Christian Uy, North 2 District; Franklin Cas, South District; Jason Briones, West District; and Joy Tomas, Central District.

Formally created as an internal coordinating body in 2007, the council’s main objective is to promote constructive, open communication between PSC’s HQ-Support Center and its franchisees. Specifically, the body is aimed at bridging healthy interactions within the group and addressing mutually-relevant expectations which includes: exchanging of ideas and information on issues to improve system-wide store sales and profit; developing improvements; adding value to the franchise system; increasing franchisor-franchisee teamwork in providing outstanding customer service; and discussing competitor market activity and the industry as a whole.

Serving in an advisory capacity, the FAC offers members’ collective recommendations and opinions regarding their concerns to the PSC management. The PSC, in return, will take into consideration the input of the council in formulating plans, programs, policies and dealing with concerns affecting franchisees.

Today, with 1,076 stores nationwide, 7-Eleven remains the top convenience store chain in the country. For more details on 7-Eleven’s franchise opportunity offerings, call (02) 7269968, 0920-9508651, 0917-8711686 or email [email protected] or visit www.7-eleven.com.ph.
