Peso ends week strong

MANILA, Philippines - The peso capped the week on a strong note against the dollar, gaining 3 centavos at 44.28 from the previous day's 44.31.

Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $822.2 million, down from Thursday's $1.293 billion.

The peso opened Friday at 44.45.
