Palm Concepcion taps EPC for Iloilo power plant project

MANILA, Philippines - Palm Concepcion Power Corp. (PCPC), signed last week with the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) the contract for the coal unloading facility (jettyport) for the company’s coal-fired power plant in Iloilo. The jettyport will accommodate the coal cargo vessel and the conveyor for the coal handling system.

PCPC represented by its president and chief executive officer, Roel Z. Castro inked the agreement with Frey-Fil Corp. (formerly Freyssinet-Filipinas Corp.) who was represented by its president Eric A. Cruz.

Witnesses to the signing are PCPC senior vice president, Winifredo Pangilinan and Frey-Fil Corp. vice president for infrastructure Ricardo A. Deypalan.

 â€œWe are very pleased to partner with Frey-Fil in this project for they are known to be one of the best in the industry. As our contractor, they will also be covering both civil and electro-mechanical works for this project. With their expertise, we are confident that everything will be completed in time for the arrival of the first coal shipment from PT Pevensey of Indonesia,” Castro said in a statement.

Frey-Fil Corp. is the country’s leader in the pre-cast and pre-stressing industry. For more than a quarter of a century, they have been known for their high level of competence and expertise in the field of pre-cast and pre-stressed concrete. They are currently operating business offices and plant facilities nationwide to better serve the needs of the ever-growing construction industry.

Construction will commence this May and will be completed by October 2015.
