Stocks start week in the red

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Stock Exchange index started the week in the red, shedding by 25.89 points or 0.43 percent to 6,015.3 on Monday.

The broader all shares index similarly dipped, losing 19.49 points or 0.53 percent to close at 3,656.43.

Almost all subindices were in the red, except for the property sector which added 5.97 points or 0.26 percent to close at 2,322.71.

The services sector suffered the most, plunging by 19.49 points or 1.04 percent to close at 1,856.29.

Winners included iRipple, Inc, MRC Allied Industries, Inc., Oriental Petroleum and Minerals Corp., IRC Properties, Inc. and Leisure & Resorts World Corp. Losers included Imperial Resources, Inc. 'A', Jolliville Holdings Corp., Millennium Global Holdings, Inc., SPC Power Corp. and Republic Glass Holdings Corp.

Total volume amounted to 791.14 million valued at P5.64 billion.

Decliners outpaced advancers 99 to 50, while 50 issues stayed the same.
