MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Stock Exchange index extended its rally for the seventh day on Thursday, adding 30.19 points or 0.49 percent to close at 6,170.05.
The broader all shares index similarly rose with a 20.33-point or 0.55-percent rise to 3,739.36 points.
All subindices were in the green except for the services sector, which shed 9.51 points or 0.49 percent to close at 1,923.49. The financials sector gained the most, adding 23.26 or 1.54 percent to close at 1,536.91.
Top gainers included Megaworld Corp., Filipino Fund, Inc., iRipple, Inc., Seafront Resources Corp. and Medco Holdings, Inc. Biggest losers, on the other hand, included Ever-Gotesco Resources and Holdings, Inc., Roxas and Company, Inc., United Paragon Mining Corp., Millennium Global Holdings, Inc. and Leisure and Resorts World Corp.
Total volume amounted to 2.63 billion, amounting to P7.2 billion. Advancers beat decliners 87 to 70 while 45 issues were unchanged.
