Ford sales hit record in 2013

MANILA, Philippines - Ford Philippines’ sales hit an all-time high of 13,285 units in 2013 amid strong demand across the company’s vehicle lineup.

In a statement, the company said strong demand across the entire Ford lineup helped drive the record-high sales.

Compared to 2012’s sales which reached almost 10,000 units, last year’s sales performance was up 41 percent.

“We continued to build on our momentum throughout the year – making further progress on our One Ford plan – allowing us to finish the year in record fashion,” Ford Philippines managing director Kay Hart said.

“With each all-new global Ford vehicle that we introduce, we are connecting with new customers in so many exciting and meaningful ways, which is helping to further drive the strength and appeal of our brand,” she said further.

The all-new Ranger was Ford’s best-selling nameplate in the Philippines in 2013 with full-year sales reaching 4,691 units, 237 percent higher year-on-year.

The Explorer also delivered its best full-year performance in 2013 with sales rising 58 percent year-over-year to 1,035 units.

The all-new Focus, which continued to attract consumers across the Philippines in 2013, achieved full-year sales of 1,046 units, a 68 percent increase from 2012.

Sales of the Everest reached a total of 2,815 units in 2013, up 39 percent from the previous year.

Full-year sales of the iconic Mustang topped its 2012 performance with retail sales rising 28 percent to 194 units last year.

But for the month of December, the company’s sales declined six percent to 1,222 units last year from the 1,298 units sold in the same month in 2012.

The company intends to introduce new vehicle models this year to support higher sales.

“With the upcoming launches of even more segment-leading global Ford vehicles this year, and the aggressive expansion of our nationwide dealer network continuing, we are committed to going further in 2014 and making the Ford brand even more accessible to our customers across the Philippines,” Hart said.
