Peso ends 4-day slide

MANILA, Philippines - The peso ended its four-day plunge against the dollar on Wednesday after closing at 44.70, 10 centavos higher than Tuesday's 44.80 finish.

Total volume traded amounted to $861.8 million, lower than the previous day's $903.6 million.

On Tuesday, the peso hit a three-year low due to strong dollar sentiment despite disappointing data from the United States.
