Fisher Mall opens, sells galunggong at P85/kilo

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Fisher Mall supermarket opened its doors recently to serve the daily marketing needs of customers in Quezon City.

Fisherfoods Corp. president and CEO Roberto Alfonso “Obby” del Rosario, who’s running the supermarket section, said he decided to soft open the supermarket to immediately market their fresh produce, especially seafoods, to provide the daily protein needs of their customers at very competitive and affordable prices.

Customers were happy to learn that the supermarket was selling “galunggong” at P85 per kilo. The grand opening of the mall which sits on a 12- hectare property at the former site of the Pantranco bus terminal, will be in January next year.  The company spent P2.8 billion for the mall which has a gross floor area of 40,000 square meters, while the 3,800- square meter supermarket has incurred a cost of P280 million to date.

“We do not want to rush because quality and safety is important,” Del Rosario said adding that the grand opening will only happen on the day “we see fit” as they do not want to compromise the safety of the mall’s structure as well as customers just to take advantage of the Christmas spending rush.
