PNoy names Finance exec as Customs OIC

Louis Bacani - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - President Benigno Aquino III has named Finance Undersecretary John Sevilla as officer-in-charge of the Bureau of Customs (BOC).

Sevilla will fill-in the position vacated by resigned BOC Commissioner Ruffy Biazon, who stepped down from his post after being slapped with charges in connection with the alleged pork barrel scam.

State-run Philippine News Agency (PNA) reported that Revilla heads the Department of Finance Corporate Affairs Group and the Privatization Office, which he held since 2010.

He was also the DOF Undersecretary for Privatization from 2006-07.

The PNA report added that Sevilla graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Economics and Government and received his Master’s degree in Public Affairs from Princeton University.
