Purisima to keynote Napocor anniversary
MANILA, Philippines - Finance Secretary Cesar V. Purisima will grace the opening ceremonies of the 77th anniversary celebration of the National Power Corp. (Napocor) as keynote speaker today at the Napocor Platinum Hall, Diliman, Quezon City.
Purisima, who was recently named as Asia’s best finance minister by Emerging Markets concurrently serves the Napocor board as chairman. It will be his first time to address the corporation’s employees.
The anniversary opening ceremonies coincides with the issuance of a report by Napocor’s first woman president, Ma. Gladys Cruz-Sta. Rita covering her first 90 days in office. The report is featured in the company’s official magazine titled, Dagitab, set to be officially launched today.
Napocor laid out a series of activities for the week-long celebration which include the launching of the “Tulong Tayo: NPC gives back to the community†CSR project, the first 90 days photo exhibit, a Dialogue with Power Customers, and the National Power Night on Nov. 7 which will be graced by Energy Secretary Carlos Jericho L. Petilla.
The anniversary week would also gather heads of Napocor’s Small Power Utilities Groups (SPUG) from all over the country for a seminar workshop on the new fuel management manual of the corporation. The manual outlines the new fuel management system designed to promote efficient handling and discourage pilferage and wastage of fuel.
To close the weeklong celebration will be an employees’ 70s-inspired Night, expected to bring all Napocor employees together in celebration of the corporation’s 77 years of service.
