MAILBOX : Ongpin completely out of PBCom

This is in reference to Mr. Victor C. Agustin’s Money-Go-Round column which was published today, Oct. 14, in The Philippine Star. In his column, Mr. Agustin wrote “The en banc Court  of Tax Appeals ruled that the Ongpin-controlled Philippine Bank of Communications was entitled to a P4.6-million tax refund in 2006….”

We would like to clarify that Mr. Roberto V. Ongpin resigned all his positions in the bank effective Dec. 28, 2012. In addition, he fully divested all his personal shareholdings in the bank effective Jan. 4, 2013.
