Market ends the week in the red

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Stock Exchange capped the week in the red after shedding by 1.34 percent or 87.25 points to close at 6,424.45.

The broader all-shares index similarly dipped by 1.39 percent or 54.37 points to 3,870.3.

All subindices were in the red except for the financials subindex, which gained by 0.58 percent or 9.35 points to 1,612.67. 

The industrial sector suffered the biggest loss, plunging by 2.26 percent or 217.58 points to 9,839.76.

Total volume amounted to 3.158 billion valued at P28.8 billion.

Decliners overwhelmed advancers 93 to 64, while 39 issues remained unchanged.
