“Through these trainings, we hope to create new small businesses that will be significant contributors to the country’s growing economy,” he said.

All sessions will be held at the Trade and Industry Building along Sen. Gil J. Puyat Ave. in Makati City.

“We invite individuals who want to start their own businesses or those in the early stages of their business start-ups to take advantage of these sessions and gain useful insights and guidance from experts,” Clavesillas said.

The MSMEs are seen to play a significant role in driving economic  growth as they account for more than 90 percent of the registered businesses in the country.

The DTI noted that MSMEs also provide employment with 63 percent of the labor force earning a living through these businesses.

Apart from the conduct of entrepreneurship sessions, the DTI is conducting trainings for small businesses through the SME Roving Academy.

The DTI is also providing equipment and technology to MSMEs through its shared service facilities program to help improve the quality of their products and make them more competitive.
