Franchise Asia 2013 expo opens today

MANILA, Philippines - Senators Grace Poe, Cynthia Villar and Loren Legarda, Trade and Industry Secretary Gregory L. Domingo and Philippine Franchise Association (PFA) chairman emeritus and Father of Philippine Franchising Samie Lim will lead the entire franchise sector at the grand opening ceremonies of Franchise Philippines 2013 Expo at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City today.

Joining them at the opening ceremonies are PFA officers- chairman Robert F. Trota; vice- chairman Ma. Alegria “Bing” Sibal-Limjoco; president Elizabeth “Yvette” Pardo-Orbeta; Franchise Asia Philippines 2013 overall chair Franklin Go; international expo chair Jose Victor Paterno; BPI Family Savings Bank president and CEO Jose Teodoro Limcaoco; PLDT executive vice president Eric Alberto; Philippine Export Confederation president Serge Ortiz- Luis; Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dr. Alfonso Siy; Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Miguel Varela; Philippine Business Bank chairman emeritus Ambassador Alfredo M. Yao, and Bb. Pilipinas winners led by reigning Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Ariella Arida.

The three-day one-stop shop international franchise expo which will showcase a wide range of local and foreign franchise and other business and investment opportunities in the food, retail and service sectors from micro to large, both homegrown and international, is organized by the Philippine Franchise Association (PFA), the country’s organization of top notch franchisers and the prime movers in the local franchising scene.

Highlighting the international expo is the Petro and Energy Pavilion which will offer various business investment opportunities--through dealer franchise agreements or fuel distributorship.

Franchise Asia Philippines 2013 overall chairman Franklin Go said the international expo is a testament to PFA’s commitment to create programs that will open opportunities for the expansion of Philippine franchises domestically and overseas by assisting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), including the development of incubation centers where highly franchiseable concepts can be introduced to the mainstream market.

The PFA is offering the Master Franchising 101 and International Franchise Opportunity Seminar scheduled today, July 19. Visitors may also consider attending discussions on How to Invest in the Right Franchise scheduled on July 20 and 21 and How to Franchise Your Business for MSME on July 20 and 21.

The international expo is part of the four-in-one Franchise Asia Philippines 2013 with the theme “Asia to the World, The World to Asia: Driving Growth Towards a Philippine Tiger Economy.”

This year’s edition of Franchise Asia Philippines is expected to attract over 50,000 aspiring entrepreneurs and will showcase more than 500 latest and brightest brands in the market today.

Franchise Asia Philippines 2013 is billed as the biggest, grandest and most anticipated franchising event in the world this year.
