2 more Villar housing units seek BOI incentives

MANILA, Philippines - Two units of home builder Vista Land and Lifescapes Inc. are seeking registration with the Board of Investments (BOI) to enjoy tax perks for the expansion of their mass housing projects.

Household Development Corp., in a published notice, “is applying for registration with the BOI as expanding developer of low cost mass housing project (Cerritos Hills Phase 1) with a capacity of 54 low-cost mass housing units on a non-pioneer status.”

The firm’s project is located in Brgy. Molino IV, Bacoor in the province of Cavite.

In a separate published notice, Communities Tarlac, Inc. has likewise filed an application for registration “as expanding developer of low cost mass housing project (Camella Tarlac Ph 3) with a total capacity of 171 low-cost mass housing units on a non-pioneer status.”

Camella Tarlac is located in Brgy. Maliwalo in Tarlac City.

The two firms would get income tax holidays and other incentives should the BOI decide to approve their applications.

The government offers incentives for preferred activities listed in the investment promotions blueprint, the Investment Priorities Plan (IPP).

The 2012 IPP has listed mass housing as a preferred activity.

Other preferred activities are  agriculture, agribusiness and fishery; creative industries or knowledge-based services; shipbuilding; energy; infrastructure; research and development; green projects; motor vehicles; strategic projects; disaster prevention, mitigation and recovery projects; iron and steel; and hospital or medical services.

Household Development is under one of Vista Land’s business units, Camella Homes, Inc.

Communities Tarlac meanwhile, falls under the business unit Communities Philippines, Inc.

Other business units of Vista Land are Brittany Corp., Crown Asia Properties, and Vista Residences, Inc.
