Louella Desiderio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) plans to open three more dealerships this year on top of the two which were earlier announced to further expand its reach and better serve customers.

The three new dealerships would be located in San Juan City, Cebu City and Calamba in Laguna.

In a statement, HCPI said the new dealership located across La Salle Greenhills would have a land area of 2,500 square meters.

It would have showroom and service facilities that could accommodate preventive maintenance, general repair and body-and-paint services and would be operational by the last quarter of this year.

The new dealership to be located near SM City Cebu and Cebu Business Park, meanwhile, would occupy a bigger land area of about 5,000 square meters and offer Honda’s full line-up and service facilities.

The firm said another dealership is also slated to be opened in Calamba.

HCPI said the additional dealerships are in line with “its commitment to bring quality products and services closer to its customers.”

Earlier, HCPI said it is set to open two new dealerships located in Camarines Sur and Leyte which are expected to start operations in the second-half of the year.

The opening of the five new dealerships would bring HCPI’s total dealer network to 32.

HCPI sells the following vehicle models: City, Jazz, Civic, Accord, CR-V, Odyssey, Pilot and the CR-Z.

The latest report of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. showed HCPI accounted for the third largest share in the group’s total sales in the first quarter, having sold 3,967 units, up from the 2,324 units in the same period last year.

In 2012, the firm’s full-year sales reached 12,653 units.
