Splash unit to provide logistics services

MANILA, Philippines - The sales, marketing and logistics arm of listed personal care manufacturer Splash Corp. will provide logistics services to two food companies.

Splash said Prime Global Corp. signed contracts to provide nationwide logistics services to Master Chef Sea Salt of Arvin International Inc. and Royal Brands FishSauce from Royal Brands of Thailand.

“Using its extensive distribution network covering relevant trade channels and modern selling technology systems, Prime Global will assist the two companies expand their product availability and market reach,” Splash said.

Prime Global is into the sales, marketing and logistics of fast moving consumer goods (FMCG).

It was originally created to strengthen the distribution of Splash’s portfolio of products.

However, Splash said Prime Global’ capability and strong relationships with trade customers was found attractive by other FMCG companies.

Splash sharply cut its capital spending to P66 million this year from P294.8 million in 2012 and P426 million in 2011.

Of the capital expenditures this year, Splash will take up P23 million while subsidiary Splash Foods Corp. will account for P35.2 million.

Prime Global Distribution Co., its direct selling business that allows the distribution of cosmetics and fragrances through its dealers and business partners, will spend P7.4 million.

In the nine months to September, the company’s profits sank to P15.12 million from P66.625 million in the previous year as cost of goods and services increased.

Splash, which is consistently in the top 300 Philippine corporations since 1998, carries the brands Extraderm, Maxi-Peel, Skin White and Bioskin, one of the fastest-growing skin care brands in the country.
