MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Bank (PNB) has started the renovation of its branches to carry the new retail branch design after its merger with Allied Banking Corp. in February this year.

In a statement, PNB said it recently renovated its Escolta branch, the first branch to be inaugurated after the merger of PNB and Allied Bank.

“The branch follows the new retail branch design which provides a comfortable and enjoyable banking experience to its clients,” it said.

Last Feb. 9, PNB and Allied Bank merged to become the fourth largest private domestic bank in terms of combined total resources.

It aims to sustain a stronger position to improve service to its customers.

PNB continuously expands its branch network throughout the country, which now comprises 627 branches and 800 ATMs nationwide.

PNB also aims to make all branches a one-stop-shop for clients’ banking needs.

PNB Escolta branch is headed by Manuelito R. Chua and is located at 324 Ground Floor, Regina Building, Escolta, Manila.

The Escolta branch was inaugurated in the presence of PNB executives Joven Hernandez, executive vice president & Retail Banking Group head and Mary Ann A. Santos, senior vice president & South Metro Manila region head.

The event was likewise attended by Philippine National Red Cross secretary general Gwendolyn Pang; Manila City Mayor, Alfredo S. Lim; Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tu; and The STAR Associate Editor, Joan Rae Ramirez.
