NLEX launches Easytrip promo

MANILA, Philippines - The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) is offering an exclusive “Easytrip Hassle-Free Summer Promo” in response to the anticipated traditional exodus of motorists during the Holy Week and the rest of summer.

Using the Easytrip tags issued by Easytrip Services Corp., will allow the driving public to navigate NLEX starting March 15 to May 31 without the hassle of queuing up in cash lanes. Individuals and corporate clients who will avail of this promo are permitted to borrow as many Easytrip tags as they wish.

“This will decrease the congestion of cash transactions in the toll lanes and will allow cash-paying motorists to experience the convenience of cashless transactions, especially during Holy Week and throughout summer when high traffic volume is expected,” said Rodrigo E. Franco, president of Manila North Tollways Corp.

Franco explained that motorists will feel the difference between lining up in a cash lane and driving through the dedicated Easytrip lanes, which recognize the unique tags attached to the windshield and then automatically deduct the toll fee.

This NLEX-sponsored promo offers two distinct packages. The first, the “Corporate Package,” is suitable to companies with two or more vehicles. Obtaining this package requires corporate clients to submit a signed Easytrip form, together with a copy of their business permit, the Securities and Exchange Commission certificate, and a photocopy of their representatives’ IDs. A security deposit equivalent to 30 percent of the subscription cost or P500 per vehicle tag is also required.

The “Individual Package,” meanwhile, is open to private motorists with the following application requirements: a filled-out Easytrip form, P500 deposit per tag, and a certificate of employment with an original company ID, valid passport, or SSS ID with photo.

NLEX is also expected to set up other contingency measures normally implemented to address unusually heavy traffic during special occasions such as Holy Week, Lent, and the Christmas holidays. These measures will include the deployment of ambulant toll collectors and the designation of additional entry or exit lanes as the need arises.
