Companies to predict fate via innovative analytics

MANILA, Philippines - Enterprise application software firm SAP is bringing into the local market its latest innovation on business intelligence (BI) that would enable the effective use of business insights.

Led by SAP's Timo Elliot, the executive taught about SAP Analytics in combination with innovations to create the intelligent enterprise that harnesses the opportunity of the latest trends such as social, mobile, big data, and cloud.

Elliot noted that SAP's BI, a component of SAP NetWeaver, offers a platform and tool set that provides solutions which allow companies to have power over their results. Its components allow planners and decision makers to make simulations to predict future possibilities.

Elliot, together with Darren Rushworth, Managing Director for SAP Philippines and Emerging Market, announced the availability of the SAP business suite running in its database platform HANA, an analytics enhancer designed to enable business processes, predictive analysis, and sentiment data processing all on a single in-memory computing platform.

"This would enable you to run your business in real time and  find new ways to secure a competitive edge, taking information from the hands of a few to all people across the enterprise to make informed and intelligent decisions," Elliot said.

Rushworth said that brisk shifts in consumer behavior and the attendant explosion of different touch points are forcing companies to cope with new data sources that will enable them to make fast, efficient and accurate decisions.

Both executives explained that SAP BI helps companies monitor and understand the performance of every touch point, gain real-time access to current and critical business operations, drive flexibility and speed across the business, and predict, understand, and meet dynamic customer needs.

"Social media for example used to be a marketing concern for companies but has now become a part of the data warehouse. It now includes sentiment data from customers," Elliot said. "The goal is for businesses to be more forward looking like detecting fraud or opportunities."
