Globe solves customer experience nightmares

Tam Noda - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -- Globe Telecom recently began its promised network transformation program by upgrading its network in Makati City, the country's business capital, putting away some of the technical troubles that hounded many of its customers.

Globe President and chief executive officer Ernest Cu, said that with the advances of the modernized network in place, Globe has made a "quantum leap in customer experience."

"The inconveniences of dropped calls, delayed messaging and slow data transmission are now things of the past," Cu said.

The initial stage of the network modernization involves the replacement of all cell sites with the latest telecommunications infrastructure.

At present, Globe said almost the entire city of Makati is now benefiting from a better mobile experience, specifically in the Central Business District.

The modernization included changing existing legacy network and deploying of Cellmax high-gain antennas to further improve coverage.

"The country’s premier business district deserves nothing less than the best network that we can deliver through pervasive 3G and expanded 4G infrastructure. What we promise to accomplish, we follow through and see it to fruition for our customers. This holds true for the entire network transformation program we are rolling out across the Philippines," Cu said.

The Globe executive even assured Globe subscribers that their robust, future-proof brand-new network is almost at hand. "Ours in Makati City today raises the standards for any Asian telco as we deliver world-class services for the Filipino."

Only recently, Globe was awarded as the Philippines' best in sustainability reporting during the 8th Indonesia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ISRA) in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The local telco giant has also been nominated as Best Telco in the Philippines by editors of CNET Asia Readers' Choice Awards 2012/2013. The latter honors tech brands and products with votes from consumers. The voting is open to ASEAN countries like the Philippines, Hong Kong and India.
