PLDT Investor Relations cited best among Phl firms

MANILA, Philippines - Leading telecoms firm PLDT was recognized for the Best in Investor Relations by a Philippine company at the Investor Relations (IR) Magazine 2012 South East Asia Awards and conference held in Singapore recently.  This is the fourth consecutive year that PLDT garnered this award.

PLDT bested some of the country’s top listed companies as it took the most votes from over 400 independent investors and analysts who participated in the IR Magazine survey for the region.

“We are truly honored that our efforts in maintaining and strengthening our communication and longstanding relationship with our investor community are being recognized,” said PLDT chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan.

“This award is a fresh reminder of the importance of transparency in dealing with our shareholders and investors. We will continue to communicate with them in a timely manner the direction that the company is taking and get their feedback,” he added.

Now in its eight year the IR Magazine Awards & Conference – South East Asia 2012 is one of the most anticipated events of the year for the IR industry in Asia. IR organizations from Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and other countries in the region get the unique opportunity to gather and discuss pressing issues, learn from each other’s best practices, and celebrate their achievements in the awards ceremony.

Earlier this year, PLDT Investor Relations also received recognitions from several regional award-giving business publications including Hong Kong-based leading financial investment magazine FinanceAsia and the Alpha Southeast Asia magazine, also based in Hong Kong.

The winners of the IR Magazine Awards are determined by a comprehensive and independent three-month-long research process that identifies the best corporate IR teams across a range of categories. “The approach is rigorous and objective at every stage,” according to the IR Magazine Awards website.

The London-based IR Magazine, originally launched by the Economist Group and now a flagship publication of the Cross Border Ltd., is renowned for providing quality insight and a global perspective. The group’s awards are a key part of the calendar in leading financial centers around the world including New York, London, and Hong Kong. It organizes more than 20 conferences and events each year and owns an expanding portfolio of digital properties.
