Confab to address changes in energy business

MANILA, Philippines - Upstream Energy 2012 conference, a unique event, will have resource speakers and panels of experts discuss the realities in the business landscape with far-reaching implications on energy security, supply and demand, affordability and access to energy supplies.

Organized in cooperation with the Department of Energy, the conference will be held Nov. 14 to 16, at the SMX Convention Center.

There will be five main sessions: Industry Outlook, Sharing of Experiences and Lessons Learned, Expanding Markets for Upstream Energy, Business Opportunities and Policies/Regulatory Issues.

Main speakers from the government are senior officials of the Department of Energy led by the Energy Secretary and Undersecretary Jose M. Layug, key officials from DTI and the DENR led by EMB assistant director Eva S. Ocfemia.

From the private sector, among the speakers are Sebastian Quiniones, managing director of Shell Philippines Exploration, Phil Byrne, CEO of Nido Petroleum, Rufino Bomasang, chairman of Philippine Chamber of Coal Mines, Eduardo Francisco, president of BDO Capital and Investment Corp.
