Solar TV launches Solar News Channel

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Last Oct. 29 at the New World Hotel in Makati, Solar Television Network launched its new channel – Solar News Channel. The new channel, which formerly aired as TALKtv, is a news information channel that aims to appeal to Filipino people who want to be informed and inspired.

Local news programs such as Solar Network News, Solar Daybreak and Solar Nightly News will reside on the channel to keep viewers in the loop with the latest and most important news of the day. Veteran broadcast journalists Jing Magsaysay, Pia Hontiveros, Nancy Irlanda, Claire Celdran and Mai Rodriguez will serve as the pillars of the fast-rising news channel.

The news channel aims to provide “news you can use”, bringing back-to-basics broadcast news but using the latest technology in media. Solar News Channel believes that every Filipino deserves to be informed and more importantly, inspired.

Aside from the newscasts, Solar News Channel will also air local and international news and lifestyle programs like What I See, The Talk, Top Gear, Undercover Boss, Inside Edition, Today Show, Anderson Live, NBC Nightly News and 60 Minutes.

Solar News Channel airs on Sky Ch. 16, Global Destiny Ch. 28, Cignal Ch. 21, Cablelink Ch. 12, and on free television SBN Ch. 21.
