5th Fund Raising Congress set for Oct 16-17

MANILA, Philippines - We all know that aid to non-profit organizations in the Philippines has been decreasing. Yet with or without foreign aid, non-profit organizations are still advocating for their causes, helping communities, and improving lives. This is not an easy task, and NGOs are always searching for the most current, efficient, and effective fund raising strategies that will help them fulfill their missions.

They should look no further. Venture for Fund Raising’s 5th Fund Raising Congress, entitled “Friend Raising: It’s More Fun in the Philippines” aims to do just that. The two-day fund raising congress will be the perfect opportunity to learn about the newest and most effective fund raising strategies, network with funders, accomplished fund raisers and friends, and explore the latest fund raising technologies available in the country today.

The congress, which will be the biggest gathering of NGO fund raising professionals in the Philippines, will be held on Oct.16-17, 2012 at the Gateway Suites, at the 4th Level of Gateway Mall, Araneta Center, Cubao.

The guest speakers will share why fund raising is more fun in the Philippines. To name a few, Gwendolyn Pang of the Philippine Red Cross, Zarah Zee Perez of Starbucks and Rina Lopez-Bautista of the Knowledge Channel will all relate their experiences and insights on emergency fund raising, corporate social responsibility and special event fund raising.

JP Alipio will teach the secrets of a successful fun run. Find out from Manny Blas how The Mind Museum was able to raise P1 Billion to build the first state-of-the-art science museum in the Philippines.

This year’s fun and trending topics will include unusual special events, mega fund raising, celebrity champions, sector-focused fund raising for education, environment, and health; internet fund raising, social entrepreneurship, legal issues, fund raising systems, and so much more!

The Fund Raising Congress is organized every two years by Venture for Fund Raising, a non-profit organization that provides training, consulting, research and public information on fund raising for other non-profits. For more information, visit www.venture-asia.org or call 634-8889 to 90.
