Air Asia extends free seats promo on int'l flights
MANILA, Philippines - Inspired by the public’s overwhelming response to its free seats promo for Davao and Kalibo, Philippines’ AirAsia, the country’s newest low cost carrier, has extended its free seats promo on its international destinations.
Under this promo, the seats are totally free with the guest only paying for fuel surcharge, processing fee and government mandated fees such as aviation security fee and VAT.
All-in fare from Clark International Airport to AirAsia’s international destinations starts at P400 for Hong Kong and Macau, from as low as P1,290 for Kuala Lumpur and P5,639 for Australia via Fly-Thru service.
“Bargain hunters, budget travelers and holidaymakers will surely have a blast especially since with our promos, planning a trip is easiest with our fares and rates all clearly laid out to our guests,” AirAsia Inc. CEO Maan Hontiveros said.
The free seats promo on international destinations is available online at www.airasia.com from Sept. 20-23, and guests will be able to travel from April 1 to Sept. 30, 2013.
Aside from Australia, the promo offers all-in fare, fly thru service via Clark International Airport to Denpasar (Bali), Surabaya, and Jakarta in Indonesia from as low as P2,649; Phuket and Bangkok from as low as P2,649; Kuching, Malaysia from as low as P4,499, and Singapore from as low as P2,489.
The Fly-Thru service was introduced by AirAsia last year with connecting flight options from selected destinations in the AirAsia route network which spans 18 countries and 76 destinations. It allows guests to seamlessly connect on multiple flight legs, on certain flights without needing to pass through immigration, collect bags, re check-in between flights or have a transit visa. Bags will also be automatically checked through to the final destination.
Guests who will avail of the Fly-Thru service will be charged with a minimal fee of P900 only which will be included in the all-in fare upon booking via www.airasia.com while connecting time is expected to take less than five hours. All connecting destinations will come from AirAsia’s transit point in LCCT (Low Cost Carrier Terminal) in Kuala Lumpur.

As part of its commitment to develop tourism and transportation outside Metro Manila, AirAsia Inc. set up its hub in Clark, Pampanga in 2011. In the same year, Filipinos welcomed the airline’s brand new Airbus A320s operated by an all-Filipino crew, signifying greater opportunities for travel, leisure and tourism industries in the country.
AirAsia Inc. was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission in March last year to engage primarily in the business of air transportation in the Philippines and abroad for passenger and cargo.
AirAsia Inc. is a 60-40 joint venture between Filipino investors Antonio O. Cojuangco, Michael L. Romero and Marianne “Maan” B. Hontiveros, and Malaysia’s AirAsia International Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of AirAsia Berhad, which has won SkyTrax’s best low cost airline for four consecutive years. (Skytrax is the world’s largest airline and airport review site.)
AirAsia Inc. began its domestic operations via Clark International Airport on March 28, 2012 by servicing daily flights to Francisco Bangoy International Airport in Davao, Puerto Princesa International Airport in Palawan and four times a week flights to Kalibo International Airport.
It launched its first international destination last June 9 with afternoon flights to Kuala Lumpur that complements Malaysia’s AirAsia which has been servicing the same route since 2005. Hong Kong and Macau flights commenced last July 19.
