MANILA, Philippines - The Trump Organization, headed by American real estate tycoon Donald Trump, plans to widen its presence in the Philippines with more projects following the huge success of the Trump Tower Manila.
Trump, represented by his two sons Donald Jr. and Eric, said they are excited to bring the Trump brand in the country through a collaboration with upscale developer Century Properties led by Amb. Jose E.B. Antonio.
In a press conference for the launch of the Trump Tower Manila, Donald Jr. emphasized that the Philippines has done so well in recent years. “This will definitely not be our last project in the Philippines,” he stressed.
For his part, Eric, founder of the Trump Hotel chain, explained that the Trump Tower Manila will be the tallest, uncompromised building when it comes to amenities, unrivalled, architecturally stunning, “and something we can be proud to have our name on.”
He added that their Manila project makes sense for a market that is doing as well as the Philippines. “This country is becoming such a destination and fits our brand perfectly,” he said.
The $150-million (P6-billion) Trump Tower Manila will be built by Century City Development Corp., a unit of Century Properties, which will be developing the luxury residential skyscraper with the brand name and mark under license from the Trump Group.
During the launch, Antonio said Trump Tower will be one of the most luxurious projects in the Philippines, adding that the project will help position Greater Manila as a cosmopolitan city, competing with the likes of Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Singapore.
For his part, Century Properties managing director Robbie Antonio said more than 70 percent of the 222 units at the Trump Tower Manila have been sold.
He also said that the project will be Century’s crown jewel. “This will be the first time that the country will see a project of this magnitude. Never had the Philippines have a brand as powerful as the Trump brand,” he added.
In New York City, the Trump signature is synonymous with the most prestigious addresses. Among them are the world-renowned Fifth Avenue skyscraper, Trump Tower. Luxury residential buildings include Trump World Tower at the United Nations Plaza, Trump Park Avenue at 59th St. and Park Ave., Trump Place on the Hudson River, and Trump Palace.
Century Properties, which recently brought American celebrity and socialite Paris Hilton to Manila to promote and design The Azure Beach Club, is quite confident about its new Trump-branded residential project.
“There is never a more opportune time than today to launch Trump Tower Manila, which is perhaps the country’s most powerful symbol of progress and readiness to compete on the world stage. This project celebrates achievement, power, modern grandeur, and an unparalleled kind of lifestyle that is on a class of its own,” Antonio said.
Trump Tower Manila will have over 220 units, and at 250 meters will be one of the Philippines’ tallest buildings. It will be built at the 3.4-hectare Century City, the flagship mixed-use development of Century Properties in Kalayaan Ave., Makati City.
