2 Global firms bare tie-up

-

MANILA, Philippines - Two global companies have entered into a partnership that maximizes the effectiveness of GPS electronic tracking services by combining the synergies of their respective operations, thereby enabling Customs authorities to ensure the more efficient monitoring of containers in transit.

The two companies are Cotecna, one of the world’s top international testing, inspection and certification companies, and Orange Business Services Worldwide, a leading global integrator of communications services.

Transit monitoring is one of the greatest challenges that confront both the trade community and Customs authorities. Difficulties in controlling shipments and goods in transit often lead to consistent loss of fiscal revenue, higher security risks and unfair competition.

Cotecna has developed a fully integrated electronic transit monitoring solution called Cotrack which is based on state-of-the-art technologies such as GPS positioning, electronic sealing, GSM/GPRS and satellite communications, along with appropriate procedures and logistics.

Cotrack provides Customs a number of measurable benefits that include tax and duty enhancement, trade facilitation, increased security, and resources optimization. Cotecna currently operates this tracking and monitoringsolution in a number of countries.
