Fitness experts lead Skechers' GOrun launch

MANILA, Philippines - Celebrity fitness experts Chinggay Andrada, Connie Fortich and Michelle Estuar led the energetic launch of Skechers GOrun at the recent Vertical Marathon in Taguig City.

Thousands of professional and leisure runners descended from the streets of McKinley Hill to show their support to protect Mother Earth and, at the same time, continue with their commitment to a healthy lifestyle by running.

Chinggay Andrada, the tough fitness trainer of The Biggest Loser: Philippine Edition, spearheaded the festivities as she hosted the event with DJ Show of JAM 88.3. Together with the race organizers, they all cheered on the crowd for showing their support as they participated in Skechers GOrun 5K race.

The marathon started with a series of dynamic stretches from fitness trainer Connie Fortich. She eagerly shared and demonstrated warm-up exercises to prep up the runners for a good, vigorous run with a combination of lunges and running to loosen the muscles.

This was immediately followed by a short talk from Michelle Estuar as she stressed on the importance of landing mid-foot among the runners. This technique not only helps lessen injuries, but ultimately, improves the running performance of runners.

Estuar further added that with the launch of Skechers GOrun, runners can easily transition to mid-foot strike and feel the big difference as they run longer, faster and stronger. This new running shoe line integrates the mid-foot strike technology that enhances the natural running performance of runners by positioning the body for an efficient mid-foot strike.

All three fitness experts agree that running should be part of every Filipino’s lifestyle. With Skechers GOrun, Filipino runners can boost their pace and satisfaction in every run they make.
