Globe offers pioneering mobile payroll service

MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telecom, through its mobile commerce subsidiary G-Xchange Inc. (GXI), recently launched a first in the industry – a salary disbursement service linked to the mobile wallet and comes with insurance coverage.

The new GCash PowerPay+ enables employees to receive their salaries on their mobile phones and withdraw from any of the 9,000 ATMs all over the country using the PowerPay+ ATM Card or cash out their money at any of the 6,000 GCash outlets nationwide.

The GCash PowerPay+ insurance bundle includes life, accidental death, burial assistance, ATM theft and residential fire coverage.

PowerPay+ is a payroll service with no maintaining balance required from the company. In addition, every PowerPay+ ATM card is linked to a Globe SIM registered to GCash that gives employees access to mobile money services. Employees can now do money transfers, purchase Globe or TM airtime load at a discount, and pay bills at the speed of a text message without the need to cash-in to their GCash accounts.
