Feb is countryside development month
MANILA, Philippines - In observance of the Countryside Development Month, a series of complementary initiatives to promote and sustain the development of rural areas in the country reels off on Feb. 16-18, centered at the AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
The 2nd Sustainable Countryside Development Summit will be the centerpiece of the series of events in celebration of the Countryside Development Month. A follow-through to the first Summit held in 2000, this year’s Countryside Development Summit will be a whole-day forum that will thresh out practical business-oriented approaches and strategies to uplift the socio-economic conditions of the rural sector.
The kick-off event on Feb. 16 will be the Grand Alliance for Countryside Economic progress Expo, a comprehensive showcase of countryside products and services highlighted by a nationwide competition for “the best countryside products/services.”
The expo will also provide a venue for micro, and small-scale producers to display and promote their products and services. It will be open to the public to allow urban buyers to gain access to quality countryside products.
The launch of www.countryweb.com.ph will cap the special three-day celebration of Sustainable Countryside Development Month. The website will initially serve as an information resource and channel for promoting the summit and facilitating online registration of participants.
The 2nd Countryside Development Summit and Grand Alliance for Countryside Economic Progress Expo are complementary events managed by MDP Events Marketing and Consultancy Inc.
