MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has launched a new marketing system that will synchronize the trade and investment promotion activities of the department with those of other government agencies.
The system, called the Global Marketing and Intelligence System (GMIS), clusters DTI offices into geographical groups.
The GMIS will be the operating structure of the DTI’s Trade and Investment Promotion Group (TIPG) to encourage collaboration among government agencies.
Eight geographical and strategic Global Marketing and Intelligence Teams (GMITs) were created.
These are teams dealing with promotion activities in Americas (North and South America), Europe (including Scandinavia, Russia and states from the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics), Middle East and Africa, South Asia (members of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation), ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and ANZ, (Australia, New Zealand) and territories in the Pacific), East Asia (Japan, South Korea and Taiwan), China and SARs (mainland China and Special Administrative Regions, namely Hong Kong and Macau), and Philippines.
