Ginebra's fiesta in a bottle

-

MANILA, Philippines - Filipinos know how to celebrate by heart and will do so to the fullest. We just recently concluded one of the longest Christmas celebrations in the world that started last September and are now in the midst of fiestas, mostly religious in origin, that fill every city, town down to the barangays.

Hence, it’s only fitting to say that “It’s more fun in the Philippines.”

To usher in the season of fiestas, Ginebra San Miguel, an integral part of every Philippine celebration since its inception in 1834, introduced the special edition shrink wrap for its iconic “bilog” bottle initially at the Ati-Atihan and Sinulog festivals held in Aklan and Cebu, respectively, last Jan. 15. This not only provides a fresh look to the pioneering gin brand, but also supports the nation’s campaign to draw in more local and foreign tourists to the innate beauty of the Philippines through its numerous attractions and celebrations.

The bottle, which is a novelty and a collector’s item, is filled with a shower of colors that coat every festivity in the archipelago, with the Masskara Festival of Bacolod and the Ati-Atihan of Kalibo, the Pahiyas Festival in Lucban and the Panagbenga Festival in Baguio City, among others prominently displayed.

“Ginebra San Miguel mirrors the festivity and color of Filipino celebrations. This special edition bottle marks the 178 years of celebrations and fiestas that we Filipinos have shared with the country’s first-ever gin, Ginebra San Miguel,” said Ginebra San Miguel marketing manager Nelson Elises.

For this year, Ginebra San Miguel will intensify its presence, not only in the fiestas depicted on its special edition bottle, but in all cities and towns where celebrations are a yearly tradition. “This is also our way of thanking our millions of consumers for having helped Ginebra San Miguel remain the world’s largest-selling gin,” Elises added.
