Bosch initiates ties between Taguig, Freiburg of Germany

-

MANILA, Philippines - Bosch – a leading global supplier of technology and services in the areas of automotive and industrial technology, consumer goods and building technology, software and systems solutions – initiated a bilateral city agreement between Taguig City and the city of Freiburg in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

A precursor to a sister city partnership, the signing of the memorandum of agreement (MOA), facilitated by the German-Philippines Chamber of Commerce, seeks to create a platform for cooperation and dialogue on ecological responsibility and sustainable living through shared social, technological and environmental programs.

“Bosch is committed to providing solutions for the community and the environment,” says Joseph Hong, managing director of Robert Bosch Inc. (Philippines), who witnessed the signing of the MOA between the two cities.

“The signing of this MOA marks the first step towards a sister city partnership. We will soon be able to work hand-in-hand as sister cities to affirm a goal of sustainability and reduce the impact of climate change.” Reiner Allgeier, president of the German-Philippines Chamber of Commerce, added.

“This first step towards a city partnership is a good opportunity for the cities of Freiburg and Taguig to propagate environmental responsibility. We at GPCCI fully support this tie-up. Freiburg is a city well-known for its successful environmental-friendly programs and platforms, while Taguig is a vastly growing commercial city, and both can benefit greatly from this cooperation.”

The initiative was launched during Mabuhay Germany, the largest annual exhibit of German products and services in the Philippines. Now in its fourth year, Mabuhay Germany continues to cultivate German-Philippine trade relations, drawing in thousands of visitors that include businessmen, diplomats and motoring enthusiasts who partake in the various expo activities.
