Tiger Balm to regain market share
MANILA, Philippines - Tiger Balm, in its close to 100 years lifetime, has become a global brand in the topical analgesic category. The original formulation of this balm or ointment was first used by Chinese emperors in olden times and today marketed by Haw Par Healthcare Ltd., one of Singapore’s leading pharmaceutical companies. While the brand continued to maintain its excellent position worldwide particularly in Asia; in the Philippines, Tiger Balm’s premier image from being a household name is now being re-established with the distributorship alliance forged between Genson Distribution Inc. and Haw Par Healthcare. Tiger Balm is now being offered to consumers in 19 and 30 gram jars but will soon also make available the four-gram tin cans when registration is secured from the Philippine Food and Drug Administration.
