-

MANILA, Philippines - PowerTrends 2011, the eighth in a series of international exhibition on energy trends and power technologies, will be held on Sept. 28-30, 2011, at the SMX Convention Center, focused on renewable energy, oil and gas, new market trends and global energy issues.

Known as the biennial gathering of major players in the energy sector in Asia, PowerTrends 2011 is being held in the context of a changing energy economy influenced by Middle East upheavals, climate change and significant economic developments in several developed regions.

This year’s event features exhibits of latest technologies, an international business forum, technical workshops and networking events.

The forum is the venue for resource speakers presenting (1) policy, regulatory issues, incentives and privatization concerns, (2) business opportunities from the private sector perspective, (3) sharing of experiences and best practices, (4) financing of energy and energy-related projects, and (5) new technologies.

This major event gathers under one roof the major international energy players, government agencies and private investors. It is supported by the Department of Energy, National Power Corp., other government agencies and industry associations. A major participant in this year’s event is the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology of Germany which will display a national pavilion featuring solar and other renewable sources of energy.

As an exhibition, PowerTrends 2011 incorporates two other events: The Energy Expo will feature new, renewable and alternative sources of energy and eco-friendly products, oil and gas exploration, nuclear energy and clean coal. Electech 2011 will present the latest technologies in electric engineering and lighting for energy efficiency and management.

Interested parties may contact the secetariat at e-mail: [email protected] or tel: 818-68-28 or fax: 810-1594. The event website is powertrends.leverageinternational.com.

PowerTrends was launched in 1995 by Leverage International for the Department of Energy and the National Power Corp. during the height of the then prevailing energy crisis in the Philippines.
