Añonuevo heads MCA-Philippines

MANILA, Philippines - Millennium Challenge Account-Philippines (MCA-P) has announced the selection of Ma. Victoria E. Añonuevo as managing director and chief executive officer of MCA-P. She will also serve as a member of the board of trustees. Añonuevo will head MCA-P’s management team in the implementation of projects to be funded by the $434-million grant from the US government’s Millennium Challenge Corp. (MCC). Immediately prior to her selection, Añonuevo was senior adviser to the president of Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) and member of the board of various ALI subsidiaries and affiliates. She is a recent member of the board of trustees of Procurement Watch Inc., a non-profit, non-partisan civil society organization created by a group of concerned individuals brought together by the challenge of reducing graft and corruption in the government procurement system. Añonuevo holds a masteral degree in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines (UP) where she was the top female graduate in 1975. She graduated cum laude from UP with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Añonuevo was sent as a scholar of Ayala Land, Inc in 1997 to the Executive Education Program at the Harvard Business School. She was awarded as one of the Ten Distinguished Alumni of the UP College of Business Administration in 2002 and one of the Most Outstanding Alumnae of the College of the Holy Spirit in 2005.
