Hyundai reports 30% hike in January sales
MANILA, Philippines - Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI) reported a 30.4 percent increase in sales to 1.541 units in January from 1,182 units a year ago.
Fe Perez-Agudo, president and CEO of HARI, said that they are more determined to start the year right and take the company’s growth prospects up a notch following an upbeat economic prospects for this year.
From its sales last December, Agudo said Hyundai’s performance continues to post stellar growth as attributed to the strong performance of its brands such as the Accent, Genesis Coupe, Getz, and Sonata. The Accent continues to make waves in the market like an established tradition with an outstanding 68.6 percent sales growth based on year-to-date figures.
Likewise, the Getz started the year right with a 64.5 percent sales growth in January.
Meanwhile, HARI attributes Hyundai’s gains in the LCV segment to the Tucson, Santa Fe, and the Grand Starex, which are considered some of the most strongly in-demand Hyundai automobiles in the country today.
