MANILA, Philippines - State-run Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC) is set to process and settle the claims of depositors amounting to a little over P500 million of the closed Rural Bank of Zapote (Las Piñas) until March.
In a statement, PDIC said it would receive claims from Feb. 16 to 18 at the bank’s premises in Real St., Zapote as well as in Casimiro Commercial Bldg., Aguilar Ave. in Talon, Las Piñas.
The state-owned insurer said the processing and payments of claims would be conducted from March 28 to 31 wherein bank records would be gathered, verified and validated.
PDIC explained that all valid deposit insurance claims would be paid with the maximum deposit insurance coverage amounting to P500,000.
The insurer would hold a deposit forum on Tuesday at the covered court in Brgy. Pamplona Uno, E. Trinidad St., San Isidro Subdivision in Pamplona 1 Las Piñas City to inform depositors of the process for filing deposit insurance claims and the requirements.
PDIC took over the Rural Bank of Zapote last Friday after the Monetary Board of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) placed the bank under receivership.
The bank has two branches operating in Las Piñas with total deposit liabilities of P536.65 million covering 2,945 accounts as of end-September last year.
