Globe Telecom offers new unlimited data roaming plan

-

MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telecom continues to strengthen its partnership with Bridge Alliance, the leading mobile consortium in Asia Pacific, with the launch of Bridge DataRoamUnlimited, an unlimited data roaming plan that offers one-flat rate across 11 territories in the region.

Bridge DataRoamUnlimited is the alliance’s response to the rising popularity of unlimited mobile data roaming for travelers visiting the Asia-Pacific region. Unparalleled in the market, it offers unlimited data roaming at a one-flat rate across all 11 Bridge Alliance member networks, namely: Airtel (India), AIS (Thailand), CSL (Hong Kong), CTM (Macau), Globe Telecom (Philippines), Maxis (Malaysia), SingTel Mobile (Singapore), SingTel Optus (Australia), SK Telecom (Korea), Taiwan Mobile (Taiwan) and Telkomsel (Indonesia).

Depending on their length of stay in a selected country, Globe customers can choose a specific plan that fits their needs: $10 for one day; $27 for three days and $40 for five days.

”Globe introduces another innovative service to our subscribers with Bridge DataRoamUnlimited. This offer is a testament to the shared commitment between Globe and members of Bridge Alliance to synergize our resources to deliver relevant services across our markets at affordable costs,” Globe president and CEO Ernest Cu said.

He noted that with the fixed charges of Bridge DataRoamUnlimited, Globe’s customers are saved from the hassle of tracking their data roaming use without having to worry about sudden charges in their phone bills.

“Our subscribers who are constantly on travel can continuously enjoy their connections with their loved ones at affordable flat rates, their way,” he added.

Meanwhile, Bridge Alliance CEO Annie Gan said that with the strong uptake of smartphones and explosion of mobile applications, customers are now enjoying these services with a wide range of mobile broadband connectivity solutions at home.

“Our goal is to provide customers with solutions that will enable them to stay connected when they travel, so they can continue to enjoy these services as they would at home without having to worry about high data roaming charges,” Gan pointed out.

She said Bridge DataRoamUnlimited offers the ultimate peace of mind to customers with unlimited usage at a very attractive fixed price per day, adding customers can now truly enjoy the freedom to roam without worries of a bill shock.

“The launch of Bridge DataRoamUnlimited is another testament of Bridge Alliance’s brand promise to deliver straightforward solutions to enhance customers’ travel experience when they roam on our members’ network. These solutions are enabled by close cooperation of the alliance members and we will continue to leverage on the strengths of our partners,” she said.

To sign up for Bridge DataRoamUnlimited, Globe subscribers simply need to register by texting BDU_<Country>_<Denom>_<Start Date mm/dd/yy> to 2884 (example: BDU Singapore 10 01/15/2011).

Globe continues to expand its international roaming network to steadily deliver superior experience to its customers. To date, Globe offers roaming service to more than 200 destinations around the world, and has over 600 roaming partners worldwide.
