ING, Finex launch search for CFO of the Year
MANILA, Philippines - In today’s rapidly globalizing economy, the chief financial officer (CFO) must possess strong leadership qualities that are essential to creating wealth for the organization.
In tribute to the time-honored ethics and qualities of the outstanding CFO held in high esteem by his peers, the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX) and ING Bank Manila are jointly honoring, for the fourth consecutive year, the country’s most outstanding finance professional with the ING-FINEX CFO of the Year Award for 2010.
The annual ING-FINEX CFO of the Year Award recognizes CFOs who have consistently manifested strong leadership and stewardship traits that help steer their organizations to robust financial health for the benefit of their numerous stakeholders. In connection with the currently ongoing search for the 2010 CFO of the Year, nominees are expected to have a sound ethical compass in handling financial issues with integrity, as well as the ability to make crucial, even though unpopular, decisions to preserve – and grow – the corporate’s financial health.
The ongoing search also focuses on effective communication skills, adaptability, emotional maturity and self-confidence as well as optimization of resources, among others, as some of the important traits that CFOs must uphold in the conduct of his key function in the organization. Together with the CEO, the CFO is primarily responsible for the efficient and seamless delivery of financial benefits to the organization’s stakeholders – shareholders, customers, suppliers, employees, community, and the country.
Through the awards, FINEX and ING Bank together aim to continue the well-served tradition of merit, collaboration and goodwill to inspire excellence amongst present and future generations of Philippine financial service leaders.
The Search for the CFO of the Year is open to all CFOs of Philippine-registered and operating organizations. Nomination forms may be obtained from the FINEX secretariat at Unit 1901, 139 Corporate Center, Valero St., Salcedo Village, Makati City, or downloaded at www.finex.org.ph or www.gsb.ateneo.edu.
