MANILA, Philippines - Wu Zhengping, commercial counselor of the embassy of the People’s Republic of China, will discuss Philippines-China economic relations at a forum on Oct. 9, 1-5:30 p.m. at the 7th floor of the Federation Center in Muelle de Binondo in Manila.
The forum, “Exploring new directions of Philippines-China relations” organized by the Philippine Association for Chinese Studies (PACS), will also have Prof. Joseph Anthony Lim of the Ateneo de Manila Economics department discussing what the Philippines can learn from China’s development.
The second part of the forum features CNN bureau chief Jaime FlorCruz discussing Philippines and China today, and Prof. Benito Lim exploring the dimensions of a new Asian community.
PACS president Teresita Ang-See, a member of the incident investigative and review committee (IIRC), will give her reflections on the Aug. 23 hostage-taking incident.
The forum is held in cooperation with the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Associations of the Philippines, and Kaisa para sa Kaunlaran.
