Foundation enhances lives of OFW families

MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino III said the Pamilyang Overseas Filipino Workers-Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Network Foundation Inc. (Pamilyang OFWs) is enhancing the lives of the OFWs and their families.

In a message received yesterday by the Pamilyang OFWs, President Aquino said: “We are glad to have the Pamilyang OFW-SME Network Foundation with us in putting our people on top of the national agenda by enhancing the lives of our modern day heroes and their families. Now that the Filipino people have expressed their desire to pursue the straight and righteous path, it rests on the shoulder of our institutions – both public and private – to fuel our nation’s rise to greatness.”

Pamilyang OFWs (with website address: http://www.pamilyangofw.com and tel. no. 438-4814) is the organizer of the Handog ka P-Noy Jobs and Livelihood Expo 2010 (Part 1) and the 7th Filipino Seafarers Family Expo & Forum which is slated on Oct. 7-8 at the Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City. The back-to-back expo – which is the third of Pamilyang OFWs’ quaterly expositions this year – is also aimed at ensuring the transformation of a majority of OFW families into community entrepreneurs.

In his message, P-Noy stressed that: “Our OFWs may be far from home, yet they remain committed to help our government for our country’s socio-economic growth and development. By assisting their families through the remittances they send to the Philippines, their families are provided with better opportunities that sustain their economic gains, thereby contributing greatly to the overall progress of our economy.”

Mr. Aquino further stated that: “And as long as we draw our strength from the people – as long as we prove ourselves worthy of their trust – then, indeed, no challenge can be too great. We will restore our national dignity. We will rebuild our nation. We will bequeath to our children the future they rightfully deserve.”
