Honda, Isuzu join OFW expo

-

MANILA, Philippines - The Pamilyang Overseas Filipino Workers-Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Network Foundation Inc. (Pamilyang OFWs) announced yesterday that Honda Cars Makati Inc. and Isuzu Alabang will join the Handog kay P-Noy Jobs and Livelihood Expo 2010 (Part 1) and the 7th Filipino Seafarers Family Expo & Forum which is slated Oct. -8 at the Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City.

Pamilyang OFWs marketing officer Christine Roque said Honda will showcase its latest cars and sports utility vehicles while Isuzu will display its Crosswind and D-Max service vehicles. Roque said the back-to-back expo is a one-stop-shop for jobs, livelihood, investment and business opportunities which aims to empower the OFW and micro, small and medium entrepreneurs as well as their families through information, opportunities and benefits.

The back-to-back expo — which is the third of Pamilyang OFWs’ quarterly expositions this year — is also aimed at ensuring the transformation of a majority of OFW families into community entrepreneurs.

The nine million OFWs, which include the seafarers or sea-based workers, are not just “modern-day heroes” but also “great investors” whose remittances help keep the Philippine economy and corporate earnings afloat.

In a study conducted by the Pamilyang OFWs (with website address: http://www.pamilyangofw.com and tel. no. 438-4814), it was shown that majority of the family of the OFWs are just waiting for the remittances and once they received the money, they just used it for their day-to-day expenses.
