2GO boosts freight capacity by 15%

MANILA, Philippines - 2GO, the country’s only total supply chain solutions provider, has increased its freight capacity by 15 percent this month with the acquisition of two new SuperFerry roll-on roll-off passenger (ropax) vessels and two 600 TEU capacity freighters.

2GO and SuperFerry are brands under Aboitiz Transport System Corp. (ATS), the only integrated transport solutions provider in the country.

“We are very excited about the increased opportunities that the additional vessels will bring to our customers,” Susan Valdez, 2GO chief executive officer, said. “Given an ideal mix of containerized and roll on-roll off (roro) cargoes, we are able to better serve both the dry and refrigerated cargo requirements of our customers.”

She noted that the new vessels would also translate to increased frequency to major destination ports around the country.

With the new vessels, 2GO shall have 58 calls a week in 12 key destinations nationwide. In Cebu alone, the frequency shall increase to seven times a week while for Cagayan de Oro, 2GO frequency shall be five times a week.

“This boosts our capability to deliver the most efficient and most reliable service to our customers that will help them grow their business,” Valdez said.

He also noted that the upcoming full integration of ATS subsidiaries, logistics firm Zoom-in-Packages (ZIP) and refrigerated transport services provider Reefer Van Specialists Inc. (RVSI), into the 2GO business would help the company achieve financial and operational efficiencies that would ultimately benefit its customers.

2GO combines flexibility, know-how, and integrated menu of services in providing solutions to its customers. It is focused on four key service areas: delivery and transport, special services, tracking and customer support, and supply chain solutions.

2GO also continues to grow and bundle more value added services to its existing and new customers. These value added services include third party logistics (3PL), nationwide air, land and sea transport for lead time sensitive cargo, cold chain management for temperature controlled goods, asset maintenance, money remittance, and domestic and international courier.
