AOC aims to increase market share to 25%
MANILA, Philippines - Taiwanese computer monitor maker AOC is aiming to increase its market share for computer monitor by 25 percent this year.
Phoebe Barrameda, AOC product manager said that AOC is now the market leader in the Philippine computer monitor market. AOC is also the first brand to launch LED computer monitors in the market.
For the first quarter of the year, AOC enjoyed a 22.7-percent share of the market.
At present, 70 percent of AOC’s monitor sales come from its LED lines, and Barrameda said this is likely to further increase in the coming years. LED monitors consumes 50-percent less energy than LCDs and 80-percent more power efficient than the traditional CRTs.
She said it is evident that the Philippine market is now into LEDs. This year, she said up to 60 percent of the market prefer LEDs and this is expected to increase to 80 percent next year.
Glee Electronics, the Philippine local partner of AOC, launched the eco-friendly Luvia, Eco7 and Maskk series of LED monitors, which significantly reduce toxic waste production and lessens energy consumption with their automatic power-off timer.
The brand also introduced its newest LCD TV, the DK99U, which has an Eco Display/end power/end saving function “that makes it easy on the environment and the eye.”
