Globe, Cocolife MedAsia offer free insurance to KaGlobe members

MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telecom has partnered with United Coconut Planters Life Assurance Corp. (Cocolife) and MedAsia Philippines to provide free insurance and discounted health benefits exclusive for KaGlobe Retailer Club members.

Under the tie-up, Cocolife will provide a free personal accident insurance coverage worth P25,000 to all KaGlobe Retailer Club members. MedAsia, on the other hand, will give premium discounts on various healthcare plans that provide medical benefits on a cashless basis in more than 250 accredited hospitals as well as access fee of P350 for cashless consultation with any of its 4,500 accredited medical practitioners nationwide.

MedAsia will offer a discount of five percent on health plans for KaGlobe Retailer Club Bronze members, 10 percent for Silver members, 15 percent for Gold members, and 20 percent for Diamond members.

“We view our AMAX retailers as our long-term partners in the business so we look at this opportunity as a means to give more value to our partnership. What is unique about Globe is that we are not only strengthening our partnership by providing them basic livelihood but also by showing that we care for their physical well-being,” Globe consumer sales and after-sales head Ferdinand dela Cruz.

Meanwhile, Cocolife president Alfredo Tumacder, Jr. said the partnership strengthens Globe and Cocolife’s shared vision of providing holistic protection to all valued AMAX retailers. “Through KaGLOBE Retailer Club, we are able to fulfill our thrust of providing financial freedom to more Filipinos. This tie-up provides them better economic opportunities through a viable business enterprise and worry-free insurance protection,” he explained.

For his part, MedAsia president and CEO Dr. Ramon Bautista noted that as a healthcare management company, they appreciate the opportunity to be in partnership with Globe as they address the need of their AMEX retailer for healthcare coverage.

“It is our objective for every AMEX retailer to have access to affordable healthcare benefits that would definitely protect them from the rising healthcare cost,” Bautista said.

KaGlobe Retailer Club is a loyalty club designed to reward AMAX retailers such as owners of sari-sari stores, groceries, canteens, bakeshops, beauty parlors, and market stalls for their outstanding sales performance.  AMAX is the electronic reloading service of Globe that allows thousands of retailers nationwide to automatically reload prepaid credits to a Globe or TM phone.

To be a KaGlobe Retailer Club member, AMAX retailers have to reach a monthly AMAX transaction volume of P5,000 in an average of three months.  Members will receive a membership card depending on the average transaction volume.
