Insular Life bares executive promotions

MANILA, Philippines - Insular Life chairman and CEO, Vicente R. Ayllón recently announced the company’s executive promotions. Promoted were Mona Lisa B. de la Cruz to executive vice president, Ma. Teresa L. Cruz, Amelita F. Tamayo and Susana G. Nicolas to first vice president, Enrico L. Cordoba to vice president and Ana Maria R. Soriano to senior assistant vice president.

De la Cruz is the chief actuary, corporate treasurer and head of the Administrative Operations Group (AOG). As head of AOG, she oversees the following units: Business Process Management Staff; Actuarial, Branch Management, New Business, Policyholders’ Services, Information Services, and Finance Divisions; and the Corporate Accounts Department. She is a B.S. Mathematics graduate of the University of the Philippines, and earned her M.S. in Applied Mathematics degree from the University of Michigan. She is a fellow of the Actuarial Society of the Philippines and an Associate of the Society of Actuaries in the US. She is also a member of the International Actuarial Association.

Cruz heads the Information Services Division (ISD). As head of ISD, she is tasked with setting directions and monitoring implementation of information technology programs and infrastructure in order to ensure the timely delivery of quality information services. She currently sits in the IT committee of Philippine Life Insurance Association. She is also a member of the IT Interaction Philippines (ITIP). She holds a B.S. Mathematics degree from the University of Philippines.

Nicolas heads the Human Resources Division (HRD). She sets the direction and monitors the implementation of programs, systems, policies and general services affecting the company’s human resources. She is a B.S. Psychology graduate of the Far Eastern University, and earned her Master in Industrial Relations Degree from the University of the Philippines.   

Tamayo is the chief marketing executive and head of the Marketing and Agency Support Division (MASD). As head of MASD, she oversees the planning, implementation and management of the marketing support programs and agency support services. She is a B.S. Management and Industrial Engineering graduate of Mapua Institute of Technology. She is a fellow of the Life Management Institute of the Life Office Management Association (LOMA).

Cordoba is the executive assistant to the chairman of the board and CEO, and concurrent head of the Corporate Planning Staff, which is responsible for organizing and directing strategic planning activities for the company and assisting management in the formulation of short-term and long-term goals, strategies and policies. He earned his B.S. Mathematics, major in Actuarial Science degree from the University of Santo Tomas and his Masters in Business Administration degree from the Ateneo de Manila Graduate School of Business. He has already earned the designations of fellow of the Financial Services Institute, fellow of the Life Management Institute, associate in Annuity Products and Administration, associate in Customer Service, associate in Reinsurance Administration, and associate in Research and in Planning of LOMA.

Soriano is the head of the Public Relations Staff and the administrator of the Insular Life Foundation. As head of the PR Staff, she supervises the conceptualization, planning, organization and implementation of the company’s public relations, corporate communications and advertising programs in order to maintain good relations with various stakeholders and to enhance the brand and reputation of the company. She is an A.B. Mass Communications graduate of the University of the Philippines, and earned her Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Ateneo de Manila Graduate School of Business.
