Manila to showcase bigger, more innovative furniture show

-

MANILA, Philippines - More than 14,000 square meters of exhibit space have been booked for Manila Now 2010, the Philippines’ biggest international furniture show. The event, known for its vital role in pushing the industry’s products to global markets, is gearing for a year of bolder innovations.

“This event’s primary function is to showcase a Filipino industry that services the international furniture and furnishing market. We sell to the world. Despite the global recession we are aiming for this show to be bigger than ever this year,” said Eduardo Zuluaga, chairman of Manila Now.

Preparation are now being made to accommodate 10,000 visitors and buyers in the country’s newest premier exhibition hall, the SMX Convention Center.

The show will feature a comprehensive profile of talents from all over the country, including exhibitors from the design-driven region of Cebu, accessories hand-crafted from the region of Bacolod and Iloilo, the giant furniture-carving manufacturers of Pampangga and the hospitality furniture of Metro Manila.

Organizers have also added components not present in previous editions to spruce up the event and maximize the buying experience of visitors.

A major new attraction for this year’s show is the special “Interior Designers’ Pavilion”. This section will feature individual displays of 25 of the country’s top interior designers showing the application of the various furniture and furnishings produced by the furniture manufacturers in real-life settings.
