Knowing your tax rights

MANILA, Philippines - The Center for Global Best Practices is holding a seminar titled “Tax Rights and Remedies for SMEs and Large Taxpayers” on Feb. 18 and 19 at the Peninsula Manila, Makati City. In this one-and-a-half-day, solutions-oriented seminar, the program will focus on taxpayers’ rights and how to address one’s most pressing tax problems, including issues like what to do when the BIR enforces auction on one’s properties for tax collection; how to fairly argue tax disputes based on updates and latest Supreme Court and Court of Tax Appeal rulings; how to properly craft a protest letter; and other special issues and unique solutions that your accountants, lawyers, and especially the BIR won’t tell you. This one-of-a-kind seminar will feature author of the book Tax Rights and Remedies Victorino C. Mamalateo, CPA, who has over 40 years of professional tax practice. He will share his knowledge as a former BIR assistant commissioner and his experiences having been in the BIR for over 30 years.
